SAINTS visit West Bromwich Albion tomorrow aiming for their second successive Premier League victory at The Hawthorns.

Here, the Daily Echo looks back through the archives at five Saints' league wins against the Baggies in the Black Country.

January 18, 1969.

West Bromwich Albion 1 Saints 2.

Saints led 2-0 at half-time through goals from Ron Davies and Fred Kemp.

Striker Tony Brown replied in the second half.

February 1, 1975.

West Bromwich Albion 0 Saints 3.

Peter Osgood put Saints into a half-time lead at The Hawthorns, with Mick Channon and Bobby Stokes netting in the second period.

December 19, 1975.

West Bromwich Albion 0 Saints 2.

Saints tore up the form book with this success in the Black Country.

Prior to the match, the Baggies had not lost at home in nine league games , while Saints had not won away in nine – drawing just two and losing seven.

David Peach put the visitors ahead at half-time, and Mick Channon completed the victory just after the hour mark.

May 14, 1984.

West Bromwich Albion 0 Saints 2.

Dave Puckett and Steve Moran struck as Saints claimed victory in their penultimate game of the season.

The crowd at The Hawthorns was only 10,365, and three days later another away win in the Midlands – this time at Notts County – ensured Saints finished runners-up to Liverpool.

August 17, 2013.

West Bromwich Albion 0 Saints 1.

Saints claimed a dramatic victory on their last visit to The Hawthorns via a last minute penalty.

Luke Shaw was adjudged to have been fouled and Rickie Lambert converted the spot kick to give Saints an opening day win.

And the referee who awarded Saints the penalty?

None other than last Sunday’s villain of St Mary’s, Kevin Friend!
