Ronald Koeman’s press conferences haven’t just been enlightening this season – at times they’ve been pretty darn entertaining.

Unfortunately, because of the international break, he's not speaking today.

But never fear. To make up for it, we've dug out seven of the Saints manager’s best press conference moments for you to enjoy...

1. Chips without mayonnaise is not chips!

This one’s become the stuff of legend. This story explains why he was asked the question. Funnily enough, though, the facts in it aren’t quite right – according to Koeman, the story actually involved apple pie and cream. Still, this is hilarious!

2. Thank you, Mauricio!

After Mauricio Pochettino was quoted as saying he’d left a team that practically trained itself at Saints, Koeman issued this superb response.

3. I never lost against Espanyol!

Earlier in the season, Koeman had another laugh at the expense of Pochettino, pointing out he’d never lost to his predecessor as a player (unfortunately, though, Poch did prevail in their only encounter so far as managers, as Spurs beat Saints 1-0 at White Hart Lane. Revenge may come for Koeman on April 25, at St Mary's, however).

4. Koeman asks a youngster on work experience what he wants to be when he grows up...doesn’t get the answer he expects!

The Daily Echo’s work experience lad got a surprise when Koeman started quizzing him at the end of this press conference. He answered in fine fashion, though!

5. Thank you, Jose!

Koeman gives credit to Jose Mourinho for Saints’ 8-0 win against Sunderland, after the Chelsea boss said his counterpart was welcome to the Manager of the Month award he beat him to just ahead of the record result.

6. You are the agent of Lovren and Lallana?

Koeman took exception to a television reporter’s questioning about ex-Saints Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren ahead of the recent game with Liverpool.

7. I am very proud of your conversation!

When the reporter tried to salvage the situation by saying he was complimenting Koeman, a cheeky grin flashed across the face of the Saints boss, as he prepared his withering response.
