STAR Saints player Morgan Schneiderlin has been caught speeding – again.

Aldershot magistrates heard how police recorded the French international’s Maserati being driven too quickly along the A33 West Quay Road – which has a 30mph speed limit – on August 12 last year.

Midfielder Schneiderlin, who lives in Ocean Village, Southampton, did not attend the hearing, where a guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

He was fined £130 for breaking the speed limit and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 costs.

He has until May 13 to pay the fine from his rumoured five-figure weekly wage.

Schneiderlin also received three points, which now leaves him halfway towards losing his licence.

The 25-year-old received six points and a £600 fine for driving his Audi at 46mph in the 40mph zone on Mountbatten Way in September 2012, then failing to provide his details to police.

This was reduced to three points at an appeal held last December before Basingstoke magistrates.

It comes as more than 2,500 Hampshire drivers were caught speeding during one week as part of a police crackdown.

Schneiderlin’s solicitor said that the footballer admitted the offence, but argued that he had been unaware he had committed any legal breach for two years because of “administrative issues”caused by frequent house moves.

Cliff Morris added that his client had paid the fine believing it to be a routine car cost, only realising he had points on his licence when he contacted the DVLA to ask for a duplicate licence.

The appeal was successful, with the fine reduced to £60, plus a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
