Saints remain confident that Nathaniel Clyne will sign a new contract with the club next week.
The right back is about to enter the final year of his current deal and Ronald Koeman has already admitted that if he does not agree to a new one then Saints are likely to have to sell him.
Protracted negotiations are still ongoing but Koeman is optimistic of a positive answer in the coming days.
He said: “Still confident that he will sign a new contract but I think next week we will know about his situation.”
Saints are also set to enter negotiations with Atletico Madrid over the future of Toby Alderweireld, who has had an outstanding season on loan at St Mary’s.
“Toby is more difficult,” said Koeman “He is still with Atletico Madrid. The player likes to stay and we like to keep Toby but it is not all about us.”
