FORMER Saints star Morgan Schneiderlin has missed out on France's 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
The midfielder will sit on the standby list after a frustrating first season at Manchester United.
The breakthrough of Leicester's N'Golo Kante and limited opportunities at Old Trafford have pushed Schneiderlin down the pecking order.
French manager Didier Deschamps also named Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko and Yohan Cabaye, of Crystal Palace, ahead of the 26-year-old.
Last week Schneiderlin admitted he was not "fully satisfied" with his first term at United.
Hehas played 38 games and 2,883 minutes since joining the Red Devils for around £25m in July 2015.
The midfielder picked up his first caps whilst still at Saints.
