EVERTON manager Ronald Koeman could swoop for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin in a shock Saints reunion.

The Frenchman could be on his way out of Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho adds muscle to his defensive options.

The Mirror reports that Everton would have to pay £25m to land the midfielder, the same sum United paid Saints for him last summer.

But Koeman, who has left Saints to take over at Goodison Park, is said to be monitoring the situation.

Talk of an Everton switch will frustrate Saints fans, who believed Schneiderlin was moving to United to play in the Champions League.

Everton will be without European football next season after finishing 11th last term.

But limited opportunities at Old Trafford have cost the 26-year-old his place in the French national team. A reunion with Koeman could restore his confidence and regular starting berth.

Juan Mata, Marouane Fellaini and Memphis Depay are also under threat, the paper reports.
