Saints are set to sign 16-year-old defender Kieran Freeman as they bolster the youth ranks at the club.

The Dundee United youngster will be one of a number of new scholars officially unveiled by Saints.

Freeman will cost a five figure sum plus add-ons, and is highly rated in Scotland having come through the youth system at Dundee United.

He has also trained with Manchester United during school holidays as part of a tie-up with the Red Devils.

Saints have been very active in their recruitment in Scotland with Fraser Forster, Steven Davis, Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk all having come from north of the border in recent years.
