SAINTS are set to be involved in the first Friday night Premier League game of the season.

The clash with Manchester United - new manager Claude Puel's first away game in charge - will be played at 8pm on Friday, August 19.

Their trip to Old Trafford will also be Jose Mourinho’s first top flight match in charge of United in front of their own fans.

It will be shown live on Sky Sports, along with Saints' first trip to the Olympic Stadium to take on West Ham.

The Hammers will take on Saints at 4pm on Sunday, September 25, while Saints' Europa League games mean their match against Swansea has been moved to 2.15pm on Sunday, September 18.

Saints have also confirmed initial dates for five other games due to their European adventure, but cannot give a finalised date or kick-off time until the TV selections for those particular months are confirmed.

The following games have also been rescheduled due to European games.

They are:

  • Leicester City v. Southampton - Sunday, October 2
  • Manchester City v. Southampton - Sunday, October 23
  • Hull City v. Southampton - Sunday, November 6
  • Southampton v. Everton - Sunday, November 27
  • Southampton v. Middlesbrough - Sunday, December 11
