I WAS pleased to read your recent article regarding the new 227,000 ton cruise liner ‘Harmony of the Seas’ which is a most impressive piece of engineering.

This new vessel carries 6,780 passengers and 2,100 crew, a total of 8,880 persons.

The liner has nine lifeboats on the port side and a further nine on the starboard. Can one assume that in the case of emergency evacuation 12 lifeboats will hold 493 persons and six lifeboats will hold 494 persons. It seems little bit like overcrowding!
