I THOUGHT Nicola Sturgeon was a lady of some intelligence and that she understood what democracy stands for.

The referendum was a vote for the UK by the British people, regardless of whether they are from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. She now wants to dissect that vote, claiming Scotland did not vote to leave the EU... yes they did as it was a vote by the UK and they are part of the UK.

Our new PM has got it wrong to say the UK will not begin exit talks until Scotland is satisfied, Nicola Sturgeon will simply delay and delay the process indefinitely to meet her own ends which is another Independence vote to leave the union of the UK.

The Scottish people rejected this less than two years ago by a 10 per cent majority and it was a wise decision as they know they will struggle going it alone. To leave the UK and embrace the EU would be a disaster for Scotland and I do believe if Scotland were to be given another independence vote the Scottish people would vote to remain in the UK by an even bigger margin as it would no longer be about leaving the union for their independence but whether they wanted to be part of the EU who would take control of their country once they joined, the Euro alone would destroy them as they no longer controlled their rates, being governed instead by Brussels.

The Scottish people are no fools but it sadly looks like their leader is delusional in her thinking, independence and the EU issue are separate things but a new vote for independence will bring the two together does she not realise that?

The Prime Minister must trigger our intention to leave the EU in January at the latest, if not before, Nicola Sturgeon can throw her toys out of her pram as much as she likes, she must not be allowed to hold the rest of the UK to ransom, the people spoke, they decided to leave by a fair democratic vote and the UK government has accepted the will of the British people and that includes the people of Scotland regardless of how they voted as a country Ms Sturgeon.
